How can we help?

We’re here to help you get the most out of Keycap. Reach out to us anytime.

Include your Mac model, your macOS version and the Keycap version (Keycap › Settings), and what happened. Never send your Apple Account password; we will never ask for it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I restore my purchase?

During the Trial, open Keycap › Settings › Purchase and click Restore. After the Trial, click Restore purchase on the screen that asks you to buy. Make sure your Mac is signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account you bought Keycap with.

How does the Trial work?

The whole app is yours for 7 days from the first time you open it. After that, Pro is a one-time purchase of $9.99 (the price in your storefront may differ). There is no subscription, no account and no free tier.

It says it can’t reach the App Store

Keycap asks the App Store for the price and for your purchase. Check that your Mac is online and signed in to the App Store, then click Try again. If it persists, email us with the message shown.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds are too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Do I need Apple Intelligence?

No. With it, Keycap writes practice passages about a subject you name, on your Mac. Without it, or while its model is still downloading, Keycap uses its own word list and tells you so.

What does Keycap need?

A Mac running macOS 26 with an ANSI (US) keyboard layout. Keycap is in English only; ISO, Dvorak and Colemak layouts are not supported.

Is my typing sent anywhere?

No. Keycap has no account, no server and no analytics, and it never stores what you typed. The privacy policy has the details.

How do I delete my data?

Everything Keycap keeps is on your Mac. Deleting the app removes it, or delete ~/Library/Containers/com.papyrus.keycap/ yourself.
