Licence

This End-User Licence Agreement is between you and Papyrus Digital (“Licensor”) for the use of Keycap (“the App”). By installing or using Keycap you agree to it.

It supplements Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where the two conflict, this one governs, except that nothing here reduces any right Apple’s terms give you.

1. Licence

Papyrus Digital grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Keycap on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

You may not copy, modify or make derivative works of the App; reverse-engineer it except where the law expressly allows; rent, lend, sell or redistribute it; remove any copyright, licence or credit notice, including the credits in Section 3; or use it for any unlawful purpose.

2. Ownership

The App — its design, code and documentation — remains the property of Papyrus Digital, apart from the third-party components below. This is a licence to use the App, not ownership of it. Suggestions you volunteer may be used without obligation to you.

3. Third-party components

Keycap bundles material licensed from others. Your licence includes the right to use it as part of the App, on its own terms, and where a term here conflicts with one of these licences, the licence governs that component.

The App credits the corpus under Settings › About, and the author and licence of the Sound Pack you have selected under Settings › Keyboard sound.

4. Updates and termination

We may release updates but are not obliged to provide updates, maintenance or support; nor is Apple. This licence lasts until terminated. It ends automatically if you breach it, and you may end it at any time by deleting the App. Sections 2, 3 and 5 to 8 survive.

5. No warranty

The App is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. Papyrus Digital disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and does not warrant that the App will be error-free or that practice history on your device will not be lost.

Keycap is a typing-practice tool, not a medical or ergonomic device. Its figures are measurements of typing, not health advice. Practice text written by the on-device model is not a source of fact.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Papyrus Digital is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, and its total liability will not exceed the greater of what you paid for the App in the preceding twelve months or fifty US dollars ($50). Where local law does not permit these limits, they apply only as far as it does.

7. Apple’s role

This licence is between you and Papyrus Digital only. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content and has no obligation to support it. If the App fails to conform to a warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund the purchase price and has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for claims relating to the App, including product liability, regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. You confirm you are not in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or on any U.S. Government list of prohibited parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this licence and may enforce it against you.

8. Governing law

This licence is governed by the laws of India and any dispute is subject to the courts of India. This does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in.
